For the fourth Essex Summer Opera Festival at Layer Marney Tower, Wild Arts presents Eugene Onegin, Tchaikovsky's stunning exploration of life, death, love, and pride in pre-revolutionary Russia. Fully-staged and performed in period costume, opera's greatest love story is told in a dazzling new English translation, and directed by former Artistic Director of Shakespeare's Globe, Dominic Dromgoole. A cast of exceptional singers is accompanied by the Wild Arts Ensemble, a hand-picked selection of the UK’s finest chamber musicians directed by Wild Arts’ Artistic Director Orlando Jopling.

 

You are welcome to arrive from 4pm to set up your picnic and enjoy the gardens. The performance will start at 5pm with a 90-minute interval for picnics, finishing at approximately 8.30pm.
