Ingrid Thomson has spent over a decade as Archivist at Glamis Castle, working through six centuries of documents, portraits and family history stored within its walls. Few people know the castle’s legends better, from the Grey Lady said to haunt the Chapel to Earl Beardie’s card game in the sealed Secret Chamber. Ingrid is the author of Ghosts of Glamis, the castle’s own account of its hauntings, and has spent her career separating documented history from centuries of embellished storytelling. But some of what she has witnessed at the castle defies easy explanation. She will be joined by Ann Nicoll, a tour guide at Glamis who has led countless visitors through its rooms and corridors and heard her share of stories along the way. Join us for a conversation about Glamis Castle’s best-known ghost stories, and the ghostly goings-on Ingrid and Ann have encountered themselves, still unfolding within the castle to this day.
