In Conversation With: The Houses Behind 'Rivals' Season Two - Charles Berkeley, of Berkeley Castle
Berkeley Castle has been home to the same family for over 850 years - one of the most continuously inhabited castles in England, and this summer, one of its most recognisable. In season two, its grounds provide the backdrop for the Rutshire Cup polo scenes: a castle that has survived wars, intrigue, and eight centuries of history, pressed briefly into the service of Jilly Cooper's Rutshire.
On the 23rd of June, Charles Berkeley joins HeritageXplore for the first of two 'In Conversation With' episodes dedicated to the houses of Rivals - on what it's really like when a film crew arrives at your door, what the series gets right about houses like this, and what it means to be the custodian of somewhere this extraordinary in 2026.
This is your backstage pass.
Members only. Online. Free to attend. 6pm BST, 23rd June - reserve your place below.
